Making the Switch from Your Current Dog Food to Taste of the Wild for Optimal Canine Health

As a dog owner, you want your best furry friends to maintain optimal health, and choosing the right dog food plays an important role in that. With the myriad of options available, switching dog food can be overwhelming, but Taste of the Wild, a grain-free and protein-rich diet made with real roasted meats, has proven to be a popular choice among dog owners.

Here’s why you should consider switching to Taste of the Wild and how to make the switch seamless.

Better Digestion and Immune System

Switching to a diet like Taste of the Wild can lead to better digestion and an enhanced immune system. The lack of fillers and grains like wheat, corn, and soy can help reduce gastrointestinal disorders, skin irritations, and allergies - problems often associated with other dog food brands that contain such ingredients

High-Quality Protein Sources

Protein is essential for your dog’s growth and development, and Taste of the Wild gets it right with their use of real meat such as bison, lamb, beef, and fish - as the primary protein source. These meats are flavourful and provide the right amount of energy for your canine friend to remain active and healthy. Additionally, Taste of the Wild doesn’t contain low-quality meat parts and by-products that other cheaper dog food brands may include.

Grain-Free Diet

Dogs in the wild have been known to thrive on diets comprising mostly meat, and it’s no surprise that domesticated dogs still prefer to eat that way. Taste of the Wild recognizes that and makes grain-free dog food to reflect that natural preference. Grains are often used as fillers in many dog and cat food brands, and can increase the risk of diabetes and weight-gain, and contrary to popular belief grains are not essential in a dog’s diet.

Smooth Transition

Making a food switch too quickly can cause digestive upset in some dogs, but Taste of the Wild recommends starting with mixing a small amount of the new food with their current food, and gradually increasing the amount over 7 days. Doing so helps your dog’s digestive system acclimate to the new food smoothly and reduces the risk of an upset tummy.

For the first two or three days, mix a greater percentage of old food than new food, about three-quarters of the food your pet now eats with one-quarter of Taste of The Wild. Then give them equal portions of new and old food for two or three days. Follow that with three-quarters new food and one-quarter percent old food. Remember to only mix foods for the same species and life stage when you do this.

Available in Multiple Flavours

Taste of the Wild comes in irresistible flavours such as Pacific Stream (Smoked Salmon), High Prairie (Bison and Venison) and Southwest Canyon (Wild Boar). These flavours mimic what your dog would eat if they were still living in the wild and provide a well-rounded and delicious diet. Having multiple flavours on rotation can also prevent boredom and picky eating in dogs, making it more likely that they will eat a wholesome diet and make the switch sooner.

Your furry friend deserves the best diet, and Taste of the Wild offers pet owners top quality pet food for all life stages. Our unique and highly digestible animal proteins, such as venison, salmon, lamb, and bison provide the essential nutrition to help support your pet's muscles, organ function, immune system, and skin.

Ancient grains like sorghum, millet, quinoa, chia seeds and tomatoes and berries are packed with nutrients that promote overall well-being while zinc, selenium, and Vitamin E give an extra boost to immunity – all packaged up in a grain-free formula.

By choosing Taste of the Wild, you can rest assured knowing that you’ve made a great decision for your dog’s overall wellbeing, and the exciting flavours will mean zero complaints from your pets!
